This scan can be performed from 8 weeks after the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) onwards. The scan can confirm the presence of a foetal heart beat and the number of foetuses. It also determines the site of pregnancy (intrauterine or ectopic).
The scan can accurately estimate the gestational age and give you an expected date of delivery. |
