Ultrasound accurately estimates fetal age and calculates expected date of delivery.  Follow up scans monitor fetal growth. Intrauterine growth retardation and intrauterine fetal death can be detected.It comprehensively scans for fetal anomalies. Maternal health is concurrently monitored.
