General Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner Sonographer led
Independent Diagnostic Ultrasound service
supported by Consultant Radiologist.
All of our ultrasound scans are conducted by qualified and highly experienced Advanced Practitoner Sonographers. They are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and are members of the Society of Radiographers, BMUS and UKAS. All our medical scans are second reported by a Consultant Radiologist to ensure the highest standard of quality control.
Our lead Advanced Practitioner Sonographer, Mrs Jayne Collings, MHSc (Medical Ultrasound), BSc (Hons) has a decades worth of experience in obstetrics, gynaecology, abdominal and small parts ultrasound and works for the local NHS. Jayne is also very experienced in 3D/4D baby scans.
We use top of the range ultrasound scanning equipment, GE Voluson 730 Expert which is equipped with 3D/4D scanning capability.
We accept referrals from your doctor, non-medically qualified referrers and self referrals for all ultrasound scans. The non-medically qualified referrers are required to be adequately trained and competent to refer and provided that there are local agreements and protocols in place.
We have strict procedures and protocols in place to ensure safe working practice and use the ALARA principle (as low as reasonably achievable). |
